School Wide Positive Behaviour Systems

Building Positive Routines and Expectations
Over the past few weeks, we have been continuing to explicitly teach and practise our school expectations and values. A key focus has been “We line up quickly when the music starts”, with students working on calm, orderly lines and smooth transitions into learning spaces. Classes have also been using consistent entry routines to help students settle quickly and positively into their learning.
We have also been reinforcing “We follow instructions”, including explicitly teaching and practising our expectations and routines for swimming. This has involved frontloading students with what to expect and how to demonstrate our school values while participating in swimming over the next two weeks.
Last week was a Responsive Week, with each class choosing a value or expectation to explore in greater depth based on their students’ needs. It has been wonderful to see students and teachers reflecting on how our values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience look, sound and feel in different situations across our school.
Thank you to our students and staff for continuing to work together to make our school a calm, safe and positive place to learn.
