Principal's Message

We have made it through to the middle of the school term! The weather has continued to give us cold days and wet, muddy grounds. If you require any additional uniform, such as jumpers to keep kids warm, please contact the office. We have a heap of second hand uniform that we have been giving students and that could have new homes. Also, if your child is unwell, please keep them home to give them time to recover. We have limited replacement staff, sometimes we are unable to replace these absences. By keeping your child home when they are unwell, this supports the school in more than one way.

We have a very busy few weeks approaching! With AFL 9's, netball, swimming, attending school performances at secondary schools, as well as our regular programming.

Swimming lessons will start this week for the junior half of the school. Please get those permission forms back in and prepare your child for swimming. All students are expected to display our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience when undertaking these lessons with the accredited swim teachers. Should any child not display these, or are displaying unsafe behaviours, parents will be called to collect their child from the pool. We thank you in supporting this as we need to be extra vigilant around water.

The year one Phonics Check is underway with our grade one students. This assesses student successes/ understanding of phonemic awareness. This is now a mandatory assessment for our grade one cohort. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to your classroom teacher.

Student Support Group meetings are currently underway, your classroom teacher will make contact with you should your child require one. If you attend an SSG this term, attendance is not required at the Parent Teacher interview at the end of term. However, you may still book one if you wish.

Our playground will (hopefully) be open soon for usage. An inspection was held a couple of weeks ago with some final works occurring this week. The students have been so patient with waiting for this to be open and returned to the school for usage.

Have an amazing week.
