Kirby, is a Year 12 student from Westall Secondary College, completing his Certificate III in Commercial Cookery School Based Apprenticeship where he is employed by Garibaldi Pizzeria. On the 2 July, Kirby joined a group of other apprentices to compete in theAUS-TAFE Culinary Trophy, where he was awarded a silver medal.
Kirby was encouraged to enter by Chef Cosi, the Trainer from Holmesglen TAFE trainer and his mentor and trainer at Garibaldi Pizzeria, Chef Marco. They both know how the many weeks of extra practice, preparation and thrill of competing in these events will build the apprentices skills and confidence.
Chef Cosi and Chef Marco are both impressed by Kirby's energy, passion and determination to develop and perfect his culinary skills. "It's a real pleasure to work with him" "He has worked hard, is really fired up now. He's come such a long way this year"
Congratulations to Kirby on this outstanding achievement.
It’s wonderful to witness your enthusiasm and determination to succeed in your chosen career.
