100 Days at Academy

There was plenty of excitement during Positive Education this week as our Year 7 students celebrated their first 100 days at Academy of Mary Immaculate.

To mark the occasion, students took a journey through the Academy's rich history by exploring photographs from many decades ago.  They were amazed to discover what school life looked like over 100 years ago, particularly the sporting uniforms.  The long dresses, long sleeves and sturdy boots worn for physical activity were met with disbelief, with many students commenting on how difficult it must have been to play sport in such clothing!   The historic classroom photographs also prompted plenty of discussion, with students deciding they were very grateful for the comfort of today's desks.

Students then enjoyed a special photo presentation celebrating their own first 100 days at Academy.  The slideshow captured many memorable moments, from Orientation and Transition activities to Year 7 Camp, time spent with their Year 12 Big Sisters, and the many friendships and experiences that have helped them settle into school life.  It was wonderful to reflect on how much the students have grown in confidence and developed a strong sense of belonging within our community.

The celebrations concluded with a delicious cupcake for every student—a sweet way to mark an important milestone.  Congratulations to all of our Year 7 students on reaching 100 days at Academy.  We look forward to seeing all they will achieve throughout the rest of the year.
