Sports Report

Hayley Northridge & Sports Captains

Interschool Sport

Today, our Year 5/6 students had their first interschool sports game for 2026. Our Gold teams went out and started the year off great, displaying teamwork, determination and fantastic sportsmanship.

  • The cricket teams went out hard, with the boys coming away with the win. The girls' team couldn't secure the win, but they showed great batting and fielding.
  • All 3 basketball teams showed their fantastic teamwork. Our boys/mixed team and our mixed team both won. Although our girls' team couldn't get the win, they tried hard and never gave up.
  • Our T-Ball teams fought hard and scored some runs, but unfortunately, both lost.
  • All blue teams had a bye this week and had some fun at school, playing in a round-robin dodgeball tournament.

Whole School Athletics Day 2026

Our Whole School Athletics Day will be held on Friday, 27th February at Meadowglen in Epping. As in previous years, the success of this event is heavily dependent on the amazing support of our school families.

Students in Years 3-6 will complete various events, and we are inviting parent volunteers to assist with running, measuring, and recording results on the day. As in previous years, you will be paired with our teaching staff.

Students in F-2 will participate in tabloid sports and sprints. Again, we would like as many parent volunteers as possible to help run these activities so our staff can supervise and support the students.

If you are available on Friday, 27th February, have a current Working with Children’s Check (you do not need to have completed the WPS parent volunteer training), and you are able to assist with the running of this event, please let me know via email hayley.northridge@education.vic.gov.au
