Prep Bulletin
Term 2 Highlights
We are incredibly proud of our Prep students and all they have achieved in their second term of school. Not only are they growing in confidence and independence, but they are also learning and absorbing so much every day. It has been wonderful to see the progress they have made both academically and socially.
Investigations
The Prep students have had a fantastic term exploring our Investigations spaces. This term, they enjoyed spending time in Scienceworks, Writers’ Den, Marvellous Mathematicians, City Planners, Camping, Nature Explorers, APS Food Market, and the Art Studio.
Through these spaces, students have developed their creativity, problem-solving skills, collaboration, and curiosity. Take a look at the photos below to see some of the wonderful creations and learning experiences. We already have many exciting requests for our Term 3 Investigations spaces!
Drama Toolbox
The Preps participated in five Drama Toolbox sessions this term, where they developed their communication, social, and emotional skills through role play and drama activities. They especially enjoyed bringing the different puppet characters to life and exploring a range of personalities and scenarios.
STEM Bridge Challenge
As part of our STEM learning, students explored different types of bridges before taking on the challenge of designing and building their own bridge using only paper. Their bridge needed to hold three toy animals of different weights. This challenge encouraged students to use their critical and creative thinking, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
Gymnastics
The Prep students loved their gymnastics sessions with Mr L this term. Through a range of fun activities and challenges, students developed their gross motor skills, balance, coordination, strength and confidence.
Gardening
We have loved our gardening sessions this term! Prep A enjoyed painting rocks with Anna, using different techniques to create bugs and nature inspired designs, while Prep R planted herbs.
In small groups with Sally, students have also been busy planting and caring for a variety of plants in our garden beds, learning about the importance of looking after our environment.
Cooking
The Preps have participated in small group cooking sessions with Karen this term. Each group had the opportunity to create something different, building their confidence in following instructions, working together, and trying new foods.
Big Idea Action
The Preps recently wrapped up their first Big Idea. To showcase their learning, students created a video, which was proudly shared with the school community at assembly. Click the link to watch our video.

Assembly
This term, the Preps hosted their very first assembly. It was wonderful to see the confidence and public speaking skills they have been developing during Investigations shine through as they presented to the whole school. We were especially proud of how much they have grown in just two terms, including their wonderful use of Italian during our La Frutta dance performance.
We look forward to another exciting term of learning, growth and new experiences in Term 3, and of course celebrating our 100 Days of Prep early next term!
