Semester Reports

As we prepare to release Semester Reports on Compass, we encourage families to view this as an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate your child’s learning journey. Reports provide valuable insight into the progress your child has made, the skills and knowledge they have developed, and the next steps in their learning.

All Victorian schools are report against the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and we would like to draw your attention to Mathematics as this will show one overall progression point, calculated from the six Mathematics curriculum areas.

A key feature of our reporting format is the use of our school’s Learning Continuums. These continuums are unique to our school and were developed in consultation with parents and carers several years ago. Families told us they wanted clearer information about where their child is in their learning and what they will be working on next.

The continuums provide this detail by clearly outlining the specific skills and knowledge your child has achieved and the next stages of learning. Rather than focusing solely on grades or year-level expectations, they help families understand and celebrate learning growth over time.

Your child’s report includes continuums for Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening, and each of the six Mathematics strands. These continuums offer a detailed picture of your child’s progress, showing where they are now, how far they have come, and the learning that lies ahead.

We hope these reports support meaningful conversations with your child about their achievements and help us continue working together to support their learning and growth.

Term Highlights

This term has been filled with wonderful learning opportunities, memorable experiences, and moments of celebration for our students both inside and outside the classroom.

Our students have enjoyed participating in a range of enriching activities, including gymnastics programs, special sporting events, and engaging drama workshops that encouraged confidence, creativity, and teamwork. A particular highlight for our Year 5/6 students was camp, where they developed independence, resilience, and lasting memories with their peers.

We also enjoyed coming together for Pyjama Day, which brought plenty of fun and community spirit across the school.

Student leadership and confidence have continued to grow through our assemblies, with several year levels proudly hosting throughout the term. A special milestone was reached when our Prep children hosted their very first assembly, delighting families and staff with their enthusiasm and confidence.

We were delighted to welcome many families into our school for the Art Show, providing a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections between home and school. The event showcased the creativity, talent and effort of our students while bringing together families, staff and students to celebrate learning and achievement. The strong sense of community and engagement generated through the Art Show reinforced the importance of creating opportunities for families to be actively involved in school life, and we look forward to making it a regular feature on our annual calendar.

We are incredibly proud of all that our students have achieved this term and thank our staff and families for their ongoing support in making these opportunities possible.

Please take the time to view the highlights and celebrate with your child the many experiences, achievements and memorable moments that have made this term so special.Connie Apostolos
