Principals' Weekly Update

Dear Armadale Community

We hope you are all well and enjoying the mild winter weather we have been experiencing.

As we approach the end of Term 2, you may notice that many children are feeling increasingly tired. This is only natural, given the tremendous number of learning opportunities and enrichment experiences they have enjoyed throughout the term. Students have participated in a wide range of incursions, excursions, workshops, sporting events and gala days, Inspire Robotics sessions, The Art Show, cooking and gardening activities, and cooking experiences in Italian lessons. Alongside these special events, students have continued their daily learning across all areas of the Victorian Curriculum. Remarkably, there are still more exciting events and experiences planned for the final week of term.

Adding to the excitement, many students have been enthusiastically following the Socceroos on the international stage. Building on this enthusiasm, students will have the opportunity next week to participate in our House Soccer Competition, organised by our House Captains and Community Building SRC team. These events provide wonderful opportunities for students to demonstrate teamwork, sportsmanship and school spirit.

At our school, we place great value on sport and collaborative activities because they promote far more than physical fitness. Participating in team sports and active play encourages children to build friendships, develop social skills, strengthen resilience and enhance their overall wellbeing. In an age where screen time can easily dominate children's leisure hours, opportunities to connect with others through physical activity are more important than ever.

As you begin planning for the upcoming school holidays, we encourage you to consider ways for your children to remain active, social and engaged. Whether through sport, outdoor play, family activities or time spent with friends, these experiences can make a significant contribution to children's mental health, wellbeing and happiness.

PFA Movie Night is on tomorrow night Friday 19th June for all the children to enjoy.

Thank you so much to our fabulous PFA and Prep parents for organising this fun movie night for all the children with 2 specially selected films for the P-2's and the 3-6's. Start time is 4.30pm in the MPC until 6.00pm and then from 6.30-8.00pm for the older children. Parents are more than welcome to stay and watch as well. BYO Bean bags,  and don't forget popcorn and juices are provided as part of the ticketing price. See you at the movies!

Join us for our Final Assembly of the term next Friday June 26th at 9.00am

The final assembly of any term is always one full of celebrations and acknowledgements and once again we are very grateful to Nathan Waterson, Director of Jellis Craig Armadale; who  has generously provided our school with  $30.00 book vouchers from Readings. We will be awarding the Jellis Craig Principal Awards; Class and Specialist Awards to a number of children who will be recipients of certificates and Readings vouchers. We look forward to celebrating these awards with you next Friday morning.

Staffing news

We wish Stef Lampard a wonderful start to the holidays as she commences a very special overseas trip with her grandmother from next Monday. We are also wishing Sam Ferguson and Luca all the very best as they take leave during the final week of term.

We look forward to welcoming Julian back to teach 1S for the last week of term. During Luca’s absence, Arts classes will be taught by Anne, a regular CRT at our school who is well known to many of our students.

We wish Stef, Sam and Luca a relaxing and enjoyable break and look forward to seeing them back at the beginning of Term 3.
