The 'Yes Like Jesus Jar'.

Even though Easter Sunday feels like one big celebration, the Easter Season actually lasts for 50 days. It begins on Easter Sunday and continues all the way until Pentecost, which celebrates the moment when the Holy Spirit came to Jesus’ friends, filling them with courage, joy, and the strength to share God’s love with the world.

As we journey through the Easter Season, we are encouraged to remember the greatest “yes” ever given, Jesus’ loving “yes” to the cross. His “yes” brings us new life, hope, and the promise of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

To help your family reflect on this in a simple, child‑friendly way, we invite you to take part in a special Easter activity:

🌿 The “Yes Like Jesus” Jar

Decorate a small jar together as a family. You might paint it, add Easter colours, glue on paper flames for Pentecost, or simply label it “Our Yes Like Jesus” Jar.

✨ How it works:

• Keep small slips of paper beside the jar.
• Encourage your child to write or draw ways they can say “yes” to God, just as Jesus did with love, courage, and kindness.
• These might include:
  • Being brave enough to do the right thing
  • Forgiving someone
  • Helping a sibling or friend
  • Praying quietly
  • Sharing with someone who needs it
  • Trying again after making a mistake

Each slip becomes a little offering of love, placed in the jar.

🔥 From Easter to Pentecost:

• During the Easter Season, focus on “yeses” that show love, kindness, and hope - just as Jesus showed on the cross and in the Resurrection.
• As Pentecost approaches, invite your child to add “yeses” inspired by the Holy Spirit - acts of courage, joy, peace, patience, and gentleness.

💛 Why it matters: This simple practice helps children recognise that Jesus’ “yes” to the cross wasn’t just long ago - it inspires our own “yeses” today. Each small act of love helps bring Jesus’ light into the world.

May Jesus’ example guide us, and may the Holy Spirit fill our homes with peace and joy throughout this Easter Season.

Easter Egg Raffle

Thank you to everyone who donated Easter eggs, baskets, gifts, and packing items for our Easter Egg Drive, and to all who purchased raffle tickets. Your incredible generosity raised $1,467.00 for Caritas Australia, and we were also able to donate plenty of eggs and chocolate rabbits to our local St Vincent de Paul Conference.
