Grand Finals – Earned, Not Given
There is a certain feeling that builds as a season of sport draws to its close.
Training sessions become sharper. Conversations become more direct. The margin for error narrows. Every drill, every review, every repetition carries greater weight.
This week, SPC have ten teams, across three sports, stepping into ISA Grand Finals — but these moments were not handed to them. They have been earned.
The journey to this weekend, for these teams began back in September of 2025.
It began in the pre-season — in the heat, in the early mornings and late afternoons, in sessions where the scoreboard didn’t exist and improvement was the only focus. It continued through the mid-season grind: away games, injuries, tight losses and the quiet resilience required to respond.
Grand Final appearances are built on:
Consistency at training
Accountability within the group
Trust in roles
A willingness to do the team-first actions that often go unnoticed
Across all codes, our students have demonstrated these qualities.
As we enter Grand Final week, we are reminded that these fixtures are about more than a result.
They are an opportunity to represent the College with pride — in preparation, in performance and in conduct. How we compete matters. How we respond to pressure matters. How we carry ourselves in both victory and defeat matters.
Compete fiercely.
Play selflessly.
Be St Pat’s Tough.
Grand Final week is a privilege — one that has been earned through discipline, resilience and belief.
We wish the following teams the very best as they prepare to step onto the court or field. Play with courage. Trust your preparation. Embrace the moment.
