What's On In Foundation

BUDDIES
In Foundation, we absolutely love spending time with our buddies! It was so special having our Grade 6 buddies help us during the first few weeks of school as we got used to being in the playground with the bigger kids. Their support made us feel welcome and confident.
We always look forward to catching up with our buddies. During our first session together, we enjoyed chatting and learning about each other, by discovering the things we have in common and the things that make us unique. Getting to know one another helps us build strong friendships and meaningful connections.
It is wonderful knowing our buddies are there for us in the playground, offering encouragement, kindness and support. Having our buddies makes school feel even more special and helps us feel safe, happy and connected each day!
INTEGRATED STUDIES
‘OUR FAMILY STORY’
This term, we have been exploring the concept of family. Students have been learning about the many different roles, structures and connections that make every family special and unique.
We have been identifying our family members and talking about the things families enjoy doing together. Students created drawings showing how families care for and support one another, and they also had fun making their own family trees.
We celebrated the wonderful diversity of families, learning that families can be different in size, structure and living arrangements. Students also enjoyed sharing stories about their own families and the special moments in their lives by creating timelines of important events so far.
It has been a lovely way for students to learn more about themselves and each other while appreciating the many ways families can look and feel.
