Principal's October Report

We at Aitken Hill Primary School recognise the rich Aboriginal heritage within our community and acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung, which includes the existing family members of the Gunung-Willam-Balluk clan, as the Traditional Custodians of this land. We embrace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander living cultures as a vital part of Australia’s identity and recognise, celebrate and pay respect to Elders past, present and future.

 

It's hard to believe we are almost at the end of the year and about half way into Term 4. 

 

Next week our new prep students arrive for their first orientation session. It's an exciting time for them and their families. Please make our new students welcome our new students and families as they make the transition from Kindergarten to Primary School.

 

In Week 7, a number of our Year 5/6 students head to Somers Camp. Somers School Camp is a school run by the Victorian Education Department which is offered to schools every 2 years.

All staff are highly qualified teachers who as passionate about teaching and learning in the outdoors.

​Somers Camp is a 9 Day residential programs for Year 5 & 6 students who attend Victorian State Primary Schools.

​Each program consists of 160 students who are drawn from various school within each network across the state of Victoria.

​Nine Visiting Teachers from each network of schools also attend each program.
