Performing Arts Highlights

Year Prep Communities 

The Year Prep Communities have continued to engage in Dance lessons in Performing Arts. Students experimented with creating animal movements using imagination and play. They worked with a partner to improvise a sequence of actions to perform to the class. Students tried out different movements inspired by sea creatures. They were encouraged to show creativity in their movements and follow the leader's movements in their group. 

Year 1/2 Communities 

The Year 1/2 Communities have continued to explore Dance in Performing Arts. Students  shared their favourite superhero powers and collaborated in a small group to perform their actions using the choreographic devices of ‘cannon’ and ‘unison’. Students then worked towards presenting a class dance inspired by the movie, ‘The Lorax’ using the dance performance and expressive skills. 

Year 5/6 Choir Performance 

The Year 5/6 Choir are working towards presenting a special end of term showcase based on the songs from the movie, ‘Sing!’ The Choir Captains (Rhythm, Suhkleen and Samyra) are currently working on developing new choreography for the classic hit song, ‘I’m Still Standing’. Students have been shortlisted for an audition to have a special solo part of the performance that is drama or dance inspired.
