Bell and Elle
This term, Foundation students have been exploring the magical world beneath the ocean and diving into their 'Fantasy Ocean Worlds' unit. They’ve been learning how to recognise and trace organic shapes like turtles, sharks, and sting rays. Using crayons and pencils, they’ve begun drawing and colouring their own sea creatures, developing fine motor skills and creativity.

In Visual Arts, Year 1/2 students are diving into their 'Fantasy Ocean Worlds' unit! They’ve been drawing imaginative creatures with a focus on varied lines and bright colours, and are now beginning to design their own fantasy seascapes using colour pencils and markers. It’s been wonderful to see their creativity flourish through the use of patterns and contrasting colours to create sea serpents.

This term in Years 3/4, students are diving into 'Fantasy and Mystery: Ocean Worlds' unit. They’ve been sketching sea creatures using a range of lines, shapes, and shading techniques. After exploring the wonders of the deep ocean, students created detailed 3D sketches inspired by creatures like water dragons and giant squids.

In Visual Arts, Year 5/6 students have kicked off their 'Fantasy, Mystery & Ocean Depths' unit with advanced cross-contour drawing and shading of marine creatures. They’ve also explored and have worked on the development of their sketches using drawing techniques to create sea dragons. Students will be leaning about value and atmospheric perspective using soft pastels, creating deep and moody underwater landscapes with a focus on light and depth in the upcoming weeks.
