Over the last 2 weeks we have welcomed our new teacher into the 5/6 team, Mrs. Howard. Mrs. Howard is an experienced teacher that retired from Bunyip PS in 2024. We are so glad to have her experience with us and look forward to her innervations for into 5/6H and support across the Cohort!

Mathematics:

Students learnt about Area and Perimeter, drawing links between multiplication, arrays and area. Students applied this learning to create plans for gardens and floorplans, finding various measurements for their drawings. unfortunately the weather prevented us from measuring objects with measuring tapes, but we will revisit that later in the year.

English:

Students have been looking at their stage plays and written alternative endings to the plays. 5/6R have written alternatives to "Macbeth" and 5/6H have written alternatives to "Dracula". Next we will be looking at character profiles!

Auslan:

Students have reviewed signs learnt in previous years and we will be starting to look at the history of Auslan and the culture the deaf community in Australia.

Thanks for all the support during the transition the 5/6 cohort have gone through. It is great to be working at a school that has been so warm, and understanding during this difficult time. if your child is experiencing any wellbeing challenges associated with these experience, please reach out so the school can support them.
