Principal's Reports

Principal - Ms. Jenny Dowsett

Student Representative Council:

I'm so proud of our SRC students. They are super keen to give our students an opportunity to have a voice in school improvement. At our last meeting, the SRC looked at the reasons why they wanted to be on SRC and then made plans to hear from the students. They then learnt about the ALTER model of student led action: Ask, Listen, Think, Enact and Reflect. They particularly want to know where students feel safe in the playground and any areas that could be made safer.

Hayden and Oakleigh have visited every classroom with an A3 map of the school and all students have been asked to place a green dot in the area they feel safest and a red dot where they feel least safe. SRC will then look at these maps before deciding on future actions.

Brianna, Harla and Ayla are creating a 1 to 10 scale for students to rate the safety of our school and Lilly, Marlie and Elise are creating the survey questions for SRC reps to ask each class.

Whilst this is happening, the students who won the 'Suggestion Box' competition have started to draw their designs on the box. It's going to look fantastic when it's completed.

Hand Ball (4 Square Competition)

Chloe, Ayla and Harla have been advocating to run a lunchtime competition of hand ball. Students will have the opportunity to participate each Wednesday for the rest of this term. Sign-up sheets and information posters with the details and rules will be displayed early next week. Each 4 square court will be limited to 10 students, with students playing in grade levels. Well done on your planning and organisation girls.
