Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

Last weekend it was announced that Fr Chinua will be leaving St Francis Xavier to take up a position at a parish in Brisbane. While I wish him every happiness and success in this new appointment I must admit I was somewhat saddened to receive the news.  I have been fortunate to work with some amazing priests throughout my long career in Catholic Education and without a doubt Fr Chinua has been one of the best. His support and guidance of both myself and our school has been greatly appreciated.  He has made such a wonderful effort to connect with our staff and children especially at masses where he exudes such joy and enthusiasm. I have particularly appreciated Fr Chinua's willingness to enable us to introduce new ideas and modifications into our religious education program - the intention always being to engage students and families and to develop a connection and deeper understanding of the Catholic faith and how it's values enhance our  lives.

A huge thank you to Fr Chinua for the significant contribution he has made during his time at St Francis Xavier Parish.

Congratulations to Fr Jude - We look forward to working alongside him as he steps into the the role of our Parish Priest administrator.

Our thanks and gratitude to Fr Chinua for all he has done for our community

Our first Whole School Prayer for the term will be tomorrow morning during which we will pray for and acknowledge our grandparents and grandfriends.

CLASS MASSES

Class masses will continue this term at the 9:15am in St Francis Xavier Church. I will send out the roster as soon as it's finalised.

Year 3/4 will be attending mass on Friday, 8th August, the Feast Day of Saint Mary of the Cross Mackillop (our only Australian saint).  All families are welcome to attend.

If we have love in our hearts we shall have God with us.
