Yinnar Cricket Clinic

In the last week of Term 3, twelve Year 8 students participated in the Yinnar Cricket Club Clinic, where they practiced skills and extended their cricket knowledge. Students were respectful, resilience and gave it their best shot, thoroughly enjoying the session.

PAT Testing

This week, Year 8 students undertook their PAT Math and PAT reading tests. The purpose of these assessments is to track growth year to year, prepare for NAPLAN, and gain entry into programs such as ALPs and early VCE subjects. This is the first time they have completed these tests since orientation, and showed great stamina in testing conditions.

Year 8 Swimming Program

Also this week, Year 8s had two intensive days of swimming at GRAC. Learning to swim is a vital life skill that helps students stay safe, active, and confident around water. Swimming builds strength, coordination, and endurance while also teaching responsibility and risk awareness. It supports the Victorian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education, which encourages students to develop movement skills and understand how to make healthy, safe choices in different environments. By learning to swim, students not only gain fitness and fun but also the essential knowledge to enjoy Australia’s waterways safely and responsibly.

Choose Your Own Adventure Excursion

Last Term, students came up with ideas of fun excursions to celebrate goals they have met this year. Students voted on the top two options that will now go out on Wednesday the 5th of November. Students will either attend Clip n Climb Berwick, or Westfield Fountain Gate. Consent/Payment will be up on compass next week. CSEF is available for these excursions.
