Hello!

Sacrament of Confirmation

Last Sunday, our Year 6 students joined students from our parish to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation. This was a significant milestone in their faith journey as they received the gifts of the Holy Spirit and renewed their commitment to living a life of faith. We congratulate all students who received this special sacrament and encourage them to continue sharing God's love through their words, actions and kindness towards others.

Following their Confirmation, our Year 6 students reflected on their experiences and what this important sacrament means to them. Read on to hear their reflections of the day, and discover why their chosen saints hold such special meaning for them.

Who was your chosen Saint?

Abbey C - "I chose Saint Mary, Star of the Sea, because she was connected to the ocean. I am also going to Star of the Sea next year."

Allegra O - "I chose Saint Susana. I think she is inspirational and she didn't need any recognition for her kind acts towards others.''

Jordan T - "I chose Saint Maximilian Kolbe who was from Poland. He showed bravery and sacrifice during World War II. This inspires me to sacrifice my time in the playground when I see someone in need."

How did you feel after receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on your special day?

Abbey C - "I felt proud and happy to make my Confirmation."

Allegra O - "I felt really happy making the Sacrament of Confirmation, receiving the Seven Gifts and showing them in my daily life."

Jordan T - "I worked really hard on my preparation for my Confirmation day, so when the day came, I was really excited. I felt more connected to God that day, because I did something he would praise me for."

A heartfelt thank you to our families, parish community, sponsors and all who supported our Year 6 students throughout their journey towards the Sacrament of Confirmation. A special thank you to Vicar General Father Tony Kerin, Mrs Norton, Miss Thompson, Mr Tyndall, Mrs Zeeng and Miss Hill for their guidance and preparation of the candidates for this important step in their faith journey.

A Prayer for Pope Leo

This week, we keep Pope Leo XIV in our thoughts and prayers following the recent announcement of his lung cancer diagnosis. As a Catholic school community, we join people around the world in praying for his healing, strength and continued recovery.

A Prayer for Pope Leo XIV

Loving God,

We ask You to watch over Pope Leo XIV as he continues his recovery. Give him strength, comfort and healing, and guide those caring for him. May he feel the love and prayers of people around the world.

Amen.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday 25th of October

Gospel Reading

Matthew 22:34-40

The Pharisees continue to test Jesus with a question about the greatest commandment.

Family Connection

Jesus encourages us to put love into action. As a family, we can follow His example by showing kindness, helping one another, listening patiently and caring for those around us. Small acts of love can make a big difference.

Family Discussion

Take some time as a family to talk about what it means to love our neighbour. Who might need some extra kindness or support this week? How can we show God's love through our words and actions, both at home and at school?

Family Prayer

Dear God,

Help us to love You with all our hearts and to show kindness to everyone we meet. Guide us to be patient, caring and thoughtful in our words and actions. May we always remember that even the smallest acts of love can make a difference.

Amen.

May God Bless,
