Intermediate Boys Cricket Division Round Robin - Thursday, 27th February

This photo was taken before their grand final against Mt. Waverley after beating Vermont in their first game.

I wanted to capture a moment that summed up this team and how they conducted themselves as competitors, as teammates and as a Highvale representative.

These young men demonstrated humility, perseverance, fairness and leadership in a facet of this day. As a teacher, you have moments in and out of the classroom where you feel extreme pride, and this moment was the one for me.

These young men were calm and composed during their games and they had a belief and confidence in themselves and each other. They supported each other on the field and were fair in giving everyone a chance to showcase their skills.

They won the division tournament and were gracious winners. I cannot speak highly enough of what I witnessed today from the 14 young men that came along, and the end result was simply a by-product of this.

Well done to Rishaan. S., who retired 53 not out and to Caleb. W., in Year 11 who came to help coach and score.

To echo Ms. Singh from our last newsletter, it is so rewarding as a staff member to see our students in a different environment.

Well done boys, looking forward to seeing what you can do at the Regional Competition!
