Each Monday, children in all classes engage in TRP (The Resilience Project) from 2:30 p.m-3:30 p.m. These lessons help children to understand and strengthen their practice of gratitude, empathy, mindfulness and emotional literacy. Here is a brief overview of each:
A strategy we often use during these lessons is GEM chats. GEM Chats can help families practice The Resilience Project’s principles, offering a simple wellbeing check-in while building stronger connections through daily conversations.
It might be an opportune time to talk to your child about what they have discussed each Monday during TRP around the dinner table on a Monday night. I love to use GEM chats at the dinner table with my 3 children when I notice a lull in the conversation or to provide a more positive focus to discussions (instead of their many complaints!!)
