Nowruz Mubarak

Nowruz is a 3000 years old tradition of celebrating Persian new year which is celebrated for 13 days. 

This year it started on 20th of March. Persian people set up a Haft Sin table 

with cloth, gold coins , real gold fish, Persian books and things that bring beauty , protection, health , love and wisdom.  

People celebrate by cooking special meals of  Sabzi Polo Mahi and Kuku Sabzi, visit family and friends, and give gifts to each other. We also jump and dance around bonfires.

Now means New and Rooz means year. Nowruz Pirooz to everyone in Mitcham Primary School.
