Celebrating Eid
Hi, I'm Thoriq McGrath, and I celebrate Eid and do it once a year. It is held in March. If you celebrate Eid and you're old enough, you fast, which means you don't eat for the day and only eat at dinner time. Really early in the morning, at 5 am, you eat food, and after the fast begins, you can't eat, and most people open their fast with a date (the food), and it is their dinner, and the fast ends on the 20th of March. In the morning of the 20th of March, you wake up at 6 am, get dressed, and go drive to the mosque and pray. After you pray, they have lots of food that they hand out, and if you fast, you don't fast on that day, but if you fast for five more days after you go to the mosque, it is considered that you have fasted for the whole year.
Year 4 Harmony Day Celebrations!
What a magnificent we had on Wednesday celebrating Harmony Day here at Mitcham Primary School. The highlight for us Year 4 teachers was certainly watching the students on stage dancing to Balle Balouza! All students should be incredibly proud of their participation & contributions to what is such a special day here at MPS 😊
