Dinosaurs
What inspired you to create a project on dinosaurs?
In class, Sandy told us both the First and Second Great Stories. These stories are about the creation of the universe and how life on Earth began. We were really interested in the Timeline of Life, in particular the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic periods. These periods are collectively known as the Mesozoic era. We decided to do a project on dinosaurs!
How many people contributed to the project?
4 people contributed, Zachary, Seb, Andy and Freddie.
How did you work out roles and responsibilities and communicate so that your project was successful?
How we managed this was we split the learning and completed our own section of the project. We all chose the areas we were most interested in. Over time, as we completed all of our own parts we brought it together. We decided to add games to check our audiences' understanding and learning. The games we added were bingo, quizzes and Find a Dippy (Diplodocus). We even have prizes for the game winners!
What was your one favourite fact that you learned?
Zachary: That the diplodocus’s tail could swing faster than sound.
Andy: That the stegosaurus was first thought to look like Godzilla!
Seb: The Tyrannosaurus's tooth could grow up to 30 centimetres long, including the root.
Freddie: Triceratops had stacked columns of teeth that moved up like a conveyor belt to replace any teeth worn down from chewing through tough plants.
