SWPBS

At Brookside College, our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework helps create a safe, supportive and consistent learning environment for every student. SWPBS focuses on explicitly teaching and reinforcing the behaviours we want to see, using preventative strategies, clear expectations and data-informed decision making.

Our SWPBS matrix is built around our four school values - Respect, Rights, Relationships and Resilience also known as the 4Rs. These values guide student behaviour across all school settings and support strong social, emotional, behavioural and academic outcomes. When students demonstrate the 4Rs, they are recognised on the spot by staff and awarded a 4R Superstar award.

Each 4R Superstar award is worth 1 Brookside Buck. Students collect their Brookside Bucks throughout the term and will have the opportunity to spend them at the SWPBS Shop at the end of each term. This is always an exciting time, as students celebrate their positive choices and exchange their hard-earned Bucks for a range of rewards.

In the Prep–2 sector, we have been placing a strong focus on building Resilience encouraging students to keep trying when learning feels challenging, to solve problems calmly, and to bounce back from setbacks. It has been wonderful to see so many students rising to the challenge and demonstrating persistence in their learning and play.

A big congratulations to Prep B, 1B and 2A for receiving the highest number of 4R Superstar awards in their respective year levels. What an incredible effort!

We are so proud of the way our students continue to live the 4Rs every day at Brookside.
