PUSH-UP POWER || Taking it up a notch for mental health! 💪👏 Nathan from Year 12 and our Principal, Mr Bartlett, went head-to-head with clap push-ups for the Push-Up Challenge—raising awareness and the bar. YEAR 12 VM STUDENTS PRESENT TO PRINCIPAL TEAM || Today, our Year 12 Vocational Major students showcased their ambitious VCE VM Program projects to the Principal team! Held in the MCC Pavilion, this valuable experience not only prepared them for their end-of-year portfolio but also supported students in meeting outcomes for their Literacy, Work Related Skills and Personal Development Skills areas of study. The students did an outstanding job, and it's such a wonderful program!

AFTERSCHOOL REHEARSALS || Our talented cast is hard at work rehearsing for the upcoming College Production of “Puffs”! Their dedication and enthusiasm are shining through as they bring the magic to life. Save the date and join us for the show on Thursday, 21 (7.30 – 9.30pm), Friday, 22 (7.30 – 9.30pm), and Saturday, 23 August (2.00 – 4.00PM). BEAUY BAKE OFF || Thank you to all our wonderful students who baked up a storm for our annual Bake Off! Categories included Biggest Cookie, Bake a Teacher, House Colours, Sport Theme and Tallest Cake. We appreciate everyone who contributed by purchasing these delicious treats with a gold coin, raising funds in honour of Holly and Bianca. Students also earned valuable house points for their respective houses through their participation. A special thank you to our Foundation Principal, Debby Chaves, for returning as a guest judge. Stay tuned for the winners, who will be announced during GOAL next week!

GENERAL ACHIEVEMENT TEST (GAT) || Today, our VCE Unit 3/4 students are taking an important step in their academic journey by completing the General Achievement Test (GAT). This pen-and-paper assessment evaluates general knowledge and skills, ensuring the quality of VCE assessments. It also serves as a valuable resource for students who may require a derived exam score due to unforeseen circumstances. We commend our students for approaching the test with maturity and diligence and wish them all the best as they continue their academic progress!

YEAR 8 LIFE CHANGER PROGRAM || Yesterday marked the kick-off of our Life Changer program for Year 8 students during GOAL. Over the course of the next two terms, students will be participating five different workshops focusing on essential pillars such as Health, Skills, Self, Purpose, and Tribe to cultivate emotional, social, and resilience skills. Students will engage with topics including mental and physical health, mindfulness, goal setting, problem-solving, gratitude, self-awareness, and fostering connections.
The Courage to Care Upstander program will also empower students to understand and advocate for acceptance, inclusion, and empathy in our diverse world.

YEAR 7 MATHS ESCAPE ROOM || To wrap up their Term 2 PBL on prime factorisation and index notation, our Year 7 students took on a maths-themed Escape Room challenge yesterday! A fun and engaging way to put their problem-solving skills to the test.

BEAUY BIG ARVO TEA || The Beauy Big Arvo Tea, organised by Year 10 Beyond students as part of our Community Connections Program, was a great success today. Our students did an outstanding job, demonstrating their skills and engaging with our parent guests and staff. It was a valuable opportunity for community impact and skill development, with the added bonus of stunning views from the MCC Pavilion.

ANOTHER DEBATING VICTORY! || Congratulations to Ruby B, Jamie C and Gemma H who dominated against Star of the Sea last night! They argued VERY convincingly against the topic “That the Australian government should prioritise tourism as Australia's main export”. Special congratulations to Gemma for earning the 'Best Speaker' title!

STUDENT VOICE & AGENCY IN ACTION || Yesterday, our Principal, Mr Bartlett, had the pleasure of accompanying Year 9 student Oskar Edwardes to the South Eastern Victoria Regional All-Staff Forum Education Conference in Warragul. Oskar delivered a powerful and eloquent speech on the importance of authentic student voice, agency, and the impact of being known, understood and respected in education. His message was clear: students deserve to be active participants in shaping their learning experience — not just recipients of it.
We are very proud of Oskar's maturity, insight and passion as we continue to nurture the leaders of tomorrow!

PICKLEBALL FUN || This week, our Year 9 & 10 Game Set Match students headed to Pickleplay for a fun session of Pickleball. One group enjoyed their session on Wednesday and the other took to the court today, both showcasing great teamwork and sportsmanship!

URBN SURF ADVENTURE || On Friday, our Year 9 & 10 The Great Outdoors students enjoyed a 90-minute surfing lesson at URBN Surf! This hands-on experience linked back to their study of recreational activities in natural versus built environments. Students will reflect on their time surfing at Shoreham and compare it with their adventure today to explore how these environments differ in terms of feeling and atmosphere.

GOAL FLIPPING FUN || Today, our Year 11 GOAL Group 1 & 2 students from Waratah House enjoyed a hands-on session, making delicious pancakes together. It was a great opportunity to work as a team, enjoy some tasty treats and wrap up a wonderful term!

ARCHITECTURE CBD WALKING TOUR || Today, our Year 9 & 10 Designing for Tomorrow students took part in an immersive Architecture CBD Walking Tour, exploring Melbourne's iconic landmarks and their architectural stories. Guided by a walking tour app, students discovered the history and design of significant buildings like the Shrine of Remembrance, RMIT University Storey Hall and Flinders Street Station. They also learned how architecture shapes society and communities, with insights from leading Australian architects.
