Ensembles Concert – Week 9 (Tuesday)

On Tuesday of Week 9, the Ensembles Concert was held in W5, showcasing amazing talent from students. Each performer brought something unique to the stage, creating a memorable night full of music and energy. It was a great way to highlight the hard work happening in our music program and bring people together to enjoy their performances.

Last Tuesday, on the 17th of June, we hosted a band ensemble that showcased all of the bands at Beaumaris Secondary College. These bands consist of students who have tried out to get into the school's main bands, as well as students who have lessons at the school who are placed into bands as a part of the package that comes with their lessons. The performances were amazing, and all students really showcased what they had been learning within their bands. It demonstrated how determined all students are to learn with their bands and make music. During the night, I played in two bands: the band I auditioned for, called the Orange Band, where we played Wipe Out and Hotel California, and the Guitar Ensemble, which has guitarists and bassists in it, where we played Africa. Both performances went amazingly well. Congratulations to everyone who performed and to all the teachers who help make the bands possible.

House Collaborative Artwork – Week 9 (Wednesday & Thursday)

Last week, students across all houses came together and created collaborative artworks for their houses that celebrated school spirit and creativity. On Wednesday, the session kicked off with great enthusiasm. The artworks continued on Thursday, with students adding their personal touches to vibrant, house-themed displays.

Karaoke – Week 9 (Friday)

Year 7s took the stage on Friday for a lunchtime karaoke session that was full of fun and laughter. It was a great way for our younger students to get involved, try something new, and cheer each other on in a fun, welcoming environment.

GOAL Coats of Arms – Week 10 (Monday)

Students spent Monday's GOAL session designing Coats of Arms to represent their house, individual values, strengths, and identities. It was a fun way to get everyone involved and see the bold, creative ideas students came up with.

Music Soirée – Week 10 (Tuesday)

Last night, we hosted a soirée to highlight the individual music students. We had a great turnout and an incredibly involved audience. As host, I noticed all the students enjoyed their time performing and it was great to see the students supporting and cheering on other students. I had lots of fun playing my piece and could tell that all the students spent their time practicing and preparing for the event. A special thanks to the instrumental teachers, and to Ms Saunders who put the whole night together.

Battle of the Bands - Week 10 (Wednesday)

On Wednesday, the 25th of June, we hosted The Battle of the Bands. A big well done to everyone who competed—it was amazing to see everyone having so much fun. The audience enjoyed themselves greatly, and I think it went better than previous Battle of the Bands.
