Year Level Captain's Report

Hi everyone, my name is Ella Franklin, and I am the Year Level Leader for Year 11. I am excited to discuss what's been happening with our Year 11 students over the past couple of weeks.
School has been busy! All of our Year 11 students completed exams in week 8. Everyone has done an amazing job! Exam week is very important as it prepares and acts as practice for our Year 12 exams next year. I can say personally that exam week has allowed me to evaluate my studying methods and how I structured my academic approach. We reflected on this in our Beyond session last week.
Students who are completing a 3/4 VCE subject this year participated in the GAT last Tuesday. The GAT (General Achievement Test) assesses general knowledge and skills in areas like English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Humanities, The Arts, and Social Sciences. It was an interesting experience, but important in the world of VCE.
Although the past few weeks have been filled with academics, we have also had some fun experiences in GOAL. GOAL groups from each house have taken a walk down to the local concourse. This activity was so much fun; we grabbed a bite to eat, chatted, and enjoyed our time outside of the classroom. Each GOAL group has also had the opportunity to cook lunch with their peers. GOAL groups one and two from Waratah were able to cook pancakes during Monday's session. We had delicious toppings like ice cream and maple syrup. We were able to connect and collaborate while cooking.
I am also excited to announce that the Year 11s will be having their wellbeing activity on the 30th of June. I have been involved in organising this activity along with one of my peers, with help from the Heads of Houses. This is a great way to conclude Term 2 and congratulate my cohort for all the effort and hard work they have put in!
Thank you, and I am wishing everyone the best as we move towards the end of term!
