It is an exciting time for our Year 10 students as they begin making important decisions about their future pathways. Many are considering vocational education and training options, including TAFE courses for Years 11 and 12, providing a valuable opportunity to develop practical skills and prepare for future employment.

Applications are now being submitted to a range of private RTOs and government-funded TAFEs, with students demonstrating initiative and taking greater ownership of their career planning. From trades and health sciences to community services and creative industries, these pathways offer meaningful, hands-on learning and real-world experience.

We wish all students every success with their applications and look forward to supporting them as they take the next step towards their chosen careers.

Year 10 Careers Expo 

On Tuesday, 21 July, we hosted our Year 10 Careers Expo, an engaging and informative event designed to help students explore their future pathways. The expo brought together universities, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), industry representatives and members of our school community, giving students the opportunity to speak directly with education and training providers, ask questions and discover a wide range of career options.

A key feature of the expo was the involvement of our VET teachers, who highlighted the range of vocational programs available at Lumen Christi College. Their displays and conversations gave students a clearer understanding of the practical, hands-on pathways they can access through the College, and the important role vocational education can play in preparing them for further study and employment.

The event was well supported by students and families and received very positive feedback. It was a valuable opportunity to equip students with the information and confidence needed to make considered decisions about their future.
