Year 9 Seminar Alumni Workshop

Celebrating Character Strengths Through Our Seminar Program

This week, our Year 9 students participated in one of the highlights of our Seminar Program as they welcomed members of our Alumni and wider community for the annual Character Strengths Workshops.

Throughout the program, students have explored their unique character strengths using the VIA Character Strengths Survey, helping them better understand their personal qualities and how these strengths can shape their relationships, future careers and life choices. They have also investigated career pathways that align with their strengths, encouraging them to think beyond occupations and consider the values and qualities they bring to the world.

A special feature of the program is the opportunity for students to hear from Alumni who have been thoughtfully matched with them based on shared character strengths. Our guests shared their personal journeys, reflecting on how their strengths have helped them navigate challenges, make important decisions and flourish in their careers and vocations.

Students then had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in meaningful conversations before creating their own vision boards, identifying personal goals and the strengths they hope to continue developing as they look towards the future.

We are sincerely grateful to our Alumni and community volunteers for generously giving their time and sharing their experiences. Their willingness to invest in our students provides authentic role models and demonstrates that character, resilience and purpose are at the heart of a meaningful and successful life.

It was an inspiring morning that celebrated the power of character and the strong connections within our Lumen Christi College community.
