LNPS Soccer Academy – Exciting New Opportunity!
We are delighted to share some exciting news with our school community. Due to the overwhelming number of Expressions of Interest received, the LNPS Soccer Academy will be going ahead in Term 2.
This marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time in Lockleys North Primary School’s history that a specialist program of this kind has been offered. We are thrilled to provide our students with access to high-quality coaching and a unique sporting opportunity within the school day.
Program Overview
The Soccer Academy will run during school hours with sessions scheduled as follows:
- Tuesday Afternoons – Year 3/4 Specialist Players🕜 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Thursday Afternoons – Year 5/6 Specialist Players🕜 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Each 90-minute session includes an additional 10 minutes for organisation, teacher handover, and communication.
What the Program Offers
Students selected into the Academy will:
- Receive specialist coaching from experienced soccer coaches
- Participate in structured, high-quality training
- Develop:
- Technical soccer skills
- Teamwork and discipline
- Confidence and resilience
Importantly, the program is designed to complement and support students’ academic learning.
This opportunity is exclusive to LNPS students.
Valencia CF Partnership
The program will follow the internationally recognised Valencia CF methodology, giving students an authentic academy experience and access to the Valencia CF Player Pathway.
This exciting initiative has been developed by former LNPS students:
- Mr Anton Starr (Assistant Principal)
Mitchell Nicholson (Valencia CF Australia CEO)
Both share a strong commitment to giving back to the school community and creating meaningful pathways for young footballers.
Trials & Key Dates
- Trials will take place in Week 1 of Term 2:
- Tuesday 28th April – Year 3/4
Thursday 30th April – Year 5/6
- Please note: Participation in trials is essential for selection into the program.
- The Academy will then run across an 8-week block (Term 2):
- Concluding Tuesday 16th June (Year 3/4)
- Concluding Thursday 18th June (Year 5/6)
Sessions & Cost
- Total sessions: 16 sessions across both groups
- 8 sessions (Year 3/4)
- 8 sessions (Year 5/6)
- Frequency: 1 session per week
- Cost to families: $10 per session
This initiative represents a fantastic opportunity to further strengthen our sporting programs and provide students with a unique, engaging, and enriching school experience.
