Pathways at LESC
Helping every student discover their strengths and shape their future.
As we wrap up Term 1, the Careers Department would like to acknowledge the fantastic engagement and growth we’ve seen across all year levels. It has been a busy and productive term, and we are incredibly proud of the way our students have embraced opportunities to explore their futures.
A highlight has been the preparation for our Year 10 Work Experience program, taking place in Week 2 of Term 2. Students have been actively seeking placements and building valuable employability skills, and we look forward to hearing about their experiences.
For our senior students, we continue to focus on securing Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) opportunities for our Year 11 and 12 cohort. These placements are vital in providing real-world insights and helping students make informed decisions about their post-school pathways.
We are also committed to strengthening our community engagement, working closely with local businesses and industry partners to expand opportunities for our students and ensure meaningful connections between school and the workforce.
In line with Department of Education guidelines, we continue to introduce career development from as early as Year 7. The focus at this stage is not on making fixed career choices, but on helping students identify their strengths, interests and aspirations. This foundational work supports students in building confidence and awareness as they progress through their schooling.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 2 and continuing this important work with renewed energy and focus.
