Year 11 Psychology

Year 11 Psychology students recently got hands-on with their learning as part of Unit 1, Area of Study 2, by taking part in a lamb’s brain dissection.
This practical activity gave students the chance to explore the brain up close and identify key structures such as the cerebrum, cerebellum and brainstem. It was a great way to connect what they’ve been learning in class to real-life biology, helping to build a deeper understanding of how the brain works and influences behaviour.
Students approached the activity with curiosity and maturity, showing strong engagement throughout. It was a valuable and memorable experience that really brought their learning to life.
We’re excited to share that LESC is introducing a free trial of Atomi for students.
Atomi is an online learning platform that offers engaging video lessons, quizzes and revision resources aligned with the curriculum. During the trial period, students will have the opportunity to explore a range of resources within their classes, review key concepts and reinforce their understanding at their own pace.
This trial will help us evaluate how Atomi can best support student learning both in the classroom and at home. We encourage families to ask their child about their experience and how they are using the platform as part of their studies.
