Religious Education  

In the first unit of the term, students will  explore the significant events of Holy Week and Easter, journeying from Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to the joy of his Resurrection. Through storytelling and reflection, they will learn about the Last Supper, Jesus’ sacrifice on Good Friday, and the transformative power of God’s love. 

By identifying sacred symbols and participating in prayerful activities, students will begin to understand Easter as a new beginning, and a central celebration of hope and light in the Catholic faith.

In the second half of the term, students will explore the personal nature of their relationship with God, learning that they are uniquely created in God’s image and are deeply loved. Through the study of Psalm 139, children will reflect on their own unique characteristics and the inherent dignity they share with all people. 

The unit also introduces prayer as a personal conversation with God, where students will practice expressing gratitude through praise and thanksgiving while learning to "listen with their hearts". By engaging in these activities, students will develop a foundational understanding of how to communicate with God and how to treat others with love and respect.
