Physical Education (Katherine/Mrs Simpson)

Our recent Cross Country event was a wonderful celebration of determination, resilience, and school spirit. We were fortunate to enjoy a beautiful day, with perfect conditions for running, and it was fantastic to see so many students giving their best effort and encouraging one another along the course. Every participant, regardless of finishing place, demonstrated persistence and a positive attitude, making the event a great success.
We are especially proud to announce that 38 students from Years 3–6 have progressed through to the next round. This is a fantastic achievement, and we wish them all the very best as they continue their cross country journey later in the term.
In Physical Education this term, all students from Foundation to Year 6 had the opportunity to participate in a special one-off soccer clinic led by our Major League coaches. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they built confidence and developed skills such as juggling and passing the ball, and enjoyed working together in a fun and supportive environment.
Adding to the excitement, our Foundation to Year 2 students have also had the opportunity to participate in Auskick sessions during lunchtimes. These sessions have provided valuable extra practice and a fun introduction to football skills, and it has been great to see so many smiling faces getting involved.
Well done to our selected Year 5/6 students who proudly represented our school at the Eureka Football Competition held at CE Brown Reserve on Friday 1st May. Their sportsmanship and teamwork were commendable, and we are very proud of their efforts.
Our Boys A and Boys B teams both showed great determination throughout the day, each securing two well-earned victories. They demonstrated excellent teamwork, strong communication, and a positive attitude in every match they played. A special congratulations goes to our Girls A team, who had an outstanding day on the field. They won all four of their matches leading them into finals. After a very moving and motivated pre-game pump up speech our girls won the Grand Final!
It was a wonderful achievement by all teams, and we congratulate every student on representing our school with pride.
Finally, well done to our Year 5/6 students who have been selected to represent our school at the upcoming Sovereign Soccer Competition on May 12th. We wish them all the best as they prepare for this exciting opportunity.
