5/6 Eureka Football

Friday 1st May, 5/6 students selected for footy went to the gym at 8:40. We put our shirts on and off we went on the bus to CE Brown Reserve! 

The Boys A team started off great with a win against St Alipius, 35–20. Everyone played really well and it was a good start. The next game was much harder, and we lost 16–56 to St Thomas More. Our third game was also a loss, which was disappointing. But in the last game, we played really well and smashed Siena about 97–2! Well done to our team - Seth C, Jack P, James B, River A, Zanda F, Edwin B, Tanner S, Ethan C, Charlie D, Jake B, Liam W and Oliver C!

The Girls A team won their first game against Mount Blowhard, 67-0. The second game was against Siena - we won, 0-27. After the break, we played St Francis Xavier. They were a good team but we still won, 0-26. We finally played St Columbus. We managed to beat them, 28-6. We then learned we were able to play in the grandfinal! We watched the Boys A team play one of their matches until our Grandfinal - we were playing St Francis Xavier again! The grandfinal felt a lot longer than our other games, but we successfully won our grandfinal, 28-12!  Our champion players were: Victoria P, Jessie T, Harley S, Addy S, Stevie S, Alirah D, Ava A, Georgia B, Abbey P, Ainsley C and Harper J!

The Boys B team was made up of Braxton K, Braxton P, Fletcher P, Elias W, Charlie B, Jesse C, Jed , Mitch M, Jack R, John S, Damien M. We also won half our games. In our first game, we won 6–0, which was a really close game with only one goal scored. The second game was a big loss and pretty tough. In our third game, we almost won but lost by a small amount. In the last game, we won about 17–14 in a super close match! 

All the teams joined together for the bus, eager to get home. After three buses came and went, none were ours. Finally after what felt like forever, our bus arrived! Overall it was amazing - we tried our best and had a fun time!
