Performing Arts

Throughout Term 1, the students in Year 3-6 created music & rhythms based around our school values. This extended our knowledge of music reading and percussion instruments. We moved to an African Music theme, where we explored different instruments and musical traditions. Each class had a go at playing an African children's stick passing game, called Obwisana, while singing and keeping the beat.
This term we have begun our music-making on the marimbas and xylophones. We are learning a piece called Captain Bob and once finished we will record it. It has been an absolute delight teaching these grades and I am looking forward to a lot more music-making with them! Below are some photos taken in the Music Room.
