Staff Faith Formation Day
On Friday 5th June, our staff took part in a Faith Formation Day. The focus of the day was in line with our Annual Action Plan Goal: ‘Provide professional learning to develop staff capacity in Catholic Social Teaching and Discipleship’.
During the day staff engaged in activities, discussion and prayer to explore Catholic identity and mission. A highlight of the day was the workshop facilitated by Tayla and Sarah from the St Vincent De Paul Youth Engagement Team. During this session, staff developed an understanding of the work of the SVDP society. They unpacked Catholic Social Teachings and looked at planning and integrating them into the classroom. Staff also explored and unpacked the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Forming Hearts document, and engaged with the Papal Document Drawing New Maps of Hope.
It was a valuable opportunity for all staff to join together to deepen our understanding of our Catholic identity and to reflect on how we continue to live out our mission each day within our school community.
