Farewell Class of 2024
Year 12 Graduation Celebrations | Mrs Au, Head of Year 12
The Class of 2024 was honoured with heartfelt celebrations, marking the end of their school journey and the beginning of new chapters ahead.
The Year 12 Graduation Dinner was held in style at the Mandurah Yacht Club, where students, parents, and families gathered to mark this significant milestone for the Class of 2024. The picturesque setting and warm atmosphere made it a memorable night as everyone came together to celebrate the achievements, growth, and camaraderie that defined this graduating class. The evening was highlighted by inspiring speeches from our student speakers, Emmanuel Dech, Destiny Wardell, and Jamie Francis. Each speaker shared personal stories, fond memories, and reflections on their high school journey, evoking laughter, pride, and a few tears from those in attendance. Their speeches resonated deeply, capturing the essence of the students’ shared experiences, the challenges overcome, and the lifelong friendships they have formed.
On 11 October, we held a moving farewell Assembly at The King’s Chapel Auditorium. This special event allowed Year 7 to 11 students to unite and congratulate the Year 12s on completing high school. One of the highlights was a video montage, capturing memories and milestones from the Class of 2024’s journey – a touching tribute that brought a tear or two to many in the audience. Following the Assembly, students formed a guard of honour, lining the path from the auditorium to the Administration reception to cheer on the graduating Year 12s as they exited the school grounds for the final time. Parents joined at the end of the procession to snap photos of this proud moment of the graduates throwing the graduation hats into the air, signifying their graduation.
The Year 12 Presentation Night was a magnificent evening, bringing together students, families, teachers, and staff to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating Class of 2024. Eairn Santos, one of our college captains, delivered a moving speech, as shown in the excerpt below.
And as we stand on the brink of this new chapter, I want you to remember something: it’s perfectly okay to feel uncertain. The world beyond these walls can be daunting, and it’s normal to be scared. But amidst that fear lies opportunity. It’s the chance to discover who we truly are and what we’re meant to become.
During the event, the leadership mantle was officially handed over to the next generation of student leaders. We are pleased to announce Kenneth Miano and Romi Andre as the newly-appointed 2025 College Captains, ready to guide the school forward.
We also took time to honour excellence and achievement across all academic and non-academic areas. The King's Chapel Founding Pastor, Dr Gerry McCoy, presented the Senior Ministers Character Award. A full list of awards can be viewed here.
In a proud announcement, Anastasia Dunn was awarded the ATAR Dux for outstanding academic performance, and Shivim Bahuguna received the ACCESS Dux for his remarkable achievements.
