A moment to pause, rest and reflect
What a wonderful, full term it has been here at Lakeside. Staff, students and families alike are eagerly anticipating the opportunity for a change of pace over the school holidays, and an opportunity to pause, rest and reflect. Mrs Amanda Trewin encouraged staff in our devotion this morning to consider the things we are thankful for - things that have sustained us through the term and filled our cups. Some of our classes have done so during this week. Year 3B completed this beautiful gratitude wall, pictured below.
My prayer is that all members of the Lakeside College community get a chance to pause, rest and reflect during these holidays. We can do so knowing that our loving Heavenly Father, who never slumbers or sleeps, continues to watch over us (Psalm 121).
May God bless you and your families richly these school holidays.
Class-led chapels in Primary
We continue to be blessed by the creativity and enthusiasm of our Primary classes, who each lead our Primary chapel services once throughout the year. This term it has been 1B, 3A and our Year 4 classes turn. We’ve been blessed to learn together about Noah’s ark, the Trinity, praising God and forgiveness, as our classes have led us in worship. Special thanks to our Primary teachers who work hard to plan these services, and prepare them with students. We thank God for you!
From little things, big things grow
This term a small group of secondary students have begun meeting as a “Mustard” group. This provides an opportunity for students to join together, explore and grow in faith, and build relationships. Mustard groups meet at schools throughout Victoria and interstate. The name comes from the parable Jesus told about Mustard seeds in Matthew 13:31-32.
