Term 3 Calendar is Chock- a-Block

There will be lots of entertainment to choose from this term and many opportunities for you to see our art students in action. We kicked off the term with the Combined Saints Colleges String Ensemble performing music by Mozart at yesterdays's Academic Assembly. This will be followed by their contribution to our annual Assumption Mass at the cathedral.

In week 6 our Saints ensembles will be performing in our annual Open Evening – Cerise and Blue. If your son is involved in the Percussion Ensemble, the Big Band or the College Choir, he must attend. In week 7, we will be holding our annual Saints Unplugged evening. Wednesday night is for juniors (Years 7-9) and Thursday night is for seniors (Years 10-12). This is an opportunity for individuals or small groups to perform to parents and friends in a relaxed but intimate setting in McLaughlin Theatre. There will be nibbles and drinks available. If your son is interested in performing, please have him contact me either on Teams or by email: cspannenbu@cns.catholic.edu.au

Our annual Combined Colleges ensembles evening will be in week 7 on the Thursday evening in Lennon Hall, following on from our Father’s Day Assembly. Finally in week 10, our drama students will present performances in their annual Drama Evening.

It is a packed term, so mark these dates in your calendars so you don’t miss out.

Communication

Much of our communication with students is via Teams and email. Please encourage your son to check these regularly so they stay abreast of what is happening, particularly given we’ve had some very last minutes changes lately due to injury and illness. He is also expected to contact the director of any ensembles or his instrumental music teacher if he's going to be absent due to illness or injury as the student office does not pass on such information.

Spirit of Arts Awards

All students who participate in Music, Drama, Visual Art, and Film, Television and New Media are eligible to apply for an award. Handbooks and journals are available from the arts staffroom, and we encourage everyone to participate in the scheme.

For any questions about the awards not outlined in the journal, please contact me on cspannenbu@cns.catholic.edu.au
