Interact

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the students who gave up their time to collect money for Red Cross in the Imperial Centre, Gosford last week. The students were Charlotte Tucker, Maria Galinda Borda, Emma Leseberg, Joy Holmes, Freya Chippindall, Stephanie Peterson, David Hong and Cody Turner. We are very proud of the way they represented the school, and their willingness to help others. Just over $300 was collected.

Mock Trial

On Wednesday 20 March our new Mock Trial team travelled to Asquith Girls High School for Round 1 of the competition. We were the defence in a criminal break and enter case. Our first witness, Adrian Crnalic was accused of stealing 50 Playstation 4 games from a TAFE acquaintance's house. Fortunately, our second witness, Chloe Matthews provided the defendant with an alibi at the time of the offence. The team were very proud that they not only won the case and exonerated the defendant, but they also won the trial by 40 points! Well done to Shireen Khoshnoud-Rad and Thomas Whelan who were our barristers, Ainslee Fernandes our solicitor and Isabella Dowe who was our court officer. We are currently working on our Round 2 case.

Photography Educators Conference

Dawn Keft attended the inspiring Photography Educators Conference on Friday 15 March in North Sydney. Each year the 'Deux Ex Photos' Conference presents photographers who work as artists or as professional photographers to a group of Visual Arts and Photography teachers. The amazing Tony Mott, one of the worlds best Rock and Roll photographers, spoke and Gary Heery, an amazing portrait photographer, who has just finished his' X Collaborative Portrait' exhibition. Check it out online at http://www.garyheery.com/x-collaborative-portraits

This idea will be one that you might see happening in some of our Visual Arts and Photography classes soon. Here is an image of how Reg Mombassa added to his portrait. It was an excellent and inspiring day.

Congratulations Adrian Crnalic!!!

Outstanding news has come through for Adrian Crnalic of Year 11.  Gosford RSL has confirmed that Adrian will be one of their scholarship recipients for 2019.  Our school has been and will always be grateful for the support given by the RSL for this opportunity.  Adrian is now the seventh Henry Kendall High School student to receive this scholarship.  He now needs to start training so that he can follow in the footsteps of those who fought and died in a significant part of our shared history with Japan and New Guinea.
