President's Report

- Rachel Imbesi

Hi Livingston families,

It’s hard to believe we have already reached the halfway mark of Term two. The year is flying and it has been an extremely busy time for our kindergarten.  In March, our kindergarten was assessed and rated by the Department of Education. Congratulations to our Educator/Lead Teacher Louise, our Teachers, Kirsty, Emma and Yvonne, our Educators and Committee members on achieving EXCEEDING in all 7 areas of the National Quality Standards. This is a fabulous result and a testament to all the hard work, dedication and commitment the staff and committee have made to ensure our kindergarten continues to grow and strive for excellence.

We were really excited to launch our new website just in time for 2022 registrations to open. Our new website is a great tool to showcase our kindergarten and help answer questions for families. I would like to thank parents and staff who helped contribute to this very important project. You can find our website: www.livingstonkindergarten.com.au

If you have registered your child for 2022, offers for a position at our kindergarten will be sent out by Bayside Council on Tuesday 1st June.  Please check your emails as you will have only 7 days to accept your position.

A big thank you to all our families who contributed to our fundraising events in Term 1. Whether it was donating Easter eggs, buying a raffle ticket or working on the Bunnings sausage sizzle stand, your help and support is greatly appreciated.  These fundraising events raised over $3000 which is a fabulous result and will go towards purchasing resources for our kindergarten.

The children and teachers are loving exploring the new outdoor area.  We are really excited to be exploring further ideas to upgrade another part of our backyard. We are currently engaging a landscaper to develop plans and we will keep you posted.

This week the Victorian State Government announced a 7 day circuit breaker lockdown to address the current Covid-19 outbreak. Our kindergarten remains open during this time which is great for the children and families. Please remember to wear your mask, stay home if children are unwell with any symptoms and a reminder, visitor access will be limited during this time.

Take care, stay safe and well,
