Farewell to Term 1

What a fantastic way to end our first Term this week! It was great to see our students, staff and families come together at the Primary Cross Country and Easter Celebrations. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those staff who work incredibly hard ‘behind the scenes’ to ensure these events are enjoyed by everyone.

First, we would like to thank Mr Anthony McMahon for organising the Primary Cross Country on Wednesday. The students had a fabulous time in warm weather conditions and it was great to see the many adults joining the students for their run or cheering them on by the finish line. Easter Celebrations

Next, we would like to thank the Maintenance Team, IT Team, Communications and Events Team for their support with the Easter Celebrations today. It was wonderful to start the festivities with the annual Easter Bonnet Parade where students were able to show off their creative hats. We would like to thank Mrs Andrea Ripon for her role as MC and Mrs Fiona Gibbs for organising the wonderful music performances and background music.

We would also like to thank the classroom teachers for planning such fun Easter activities for the students and their families to enjoy in the classrooms. For morning tea, parents were treated to coffee, tea and hot cross buns and we would like to thank the PFA for their ongoing support and hospitality. A final thank you goes to Mr Stuart Martin. Congratulations on the beautiful service which commemorated the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

After School Arrangements

For those students catching one of our late buses, the after-school supervision has changed from the Resource Centre to the Middle School.
Students in Kinder to Year 2 will be allowed to play on the equipment but only after their parents have collected them from the classroom teacher, at which point the responsibility is transferred back to the parent who is required to actively supervise their child/ren.
If students are not collected from the classroom by 3:15pm, they are sent to the Primary School office where parents can collect them.
Supervision after 3:15pm is not available and those parents who are unable to collect their child before this time, are encouraged to contact School’s Out, our onsite Outside of School Hours Care provider.

Core Value Awards

Core Value Award are awarded to students who consistently display one or more of the school’s core values and motto. Students receive Core Value Awards at our Primary School Assemblies. Respect at Moama Anglican Grammar is valuing others and their unique contribution to our life. Through our actions and thoughts, we are considerate of everyone at our school so we can have a respectful learning environment. We ensure that every student has the opportunity to learn and every teacher has the right to teach. Congratulations to the students below. Keep up the great work!

Parent Classroom Representative

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those parents who have been involved in the Parent Classroom Representative (PCR) program over the years.

At the recent PFA meeting, we discussed the difficulty of filling these roles each year. The PCR has been responsible for two main objectives; creating opportunities to connect and supporting teaching staff, both of which are covered through other volunteer initiatives. The PFA is involved in organising whole school community events where we aim to connect. In addition, the Registered Volunteer Program provides opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s schooling life whilst supporting teaching staff in the classroom.

Considering both of the objectives are met through the two programs; PFA and Registered Volunteer Program, it was decided by the PFA to make the PCR program redundant at this time.
