Around the School

Science around the School

Our own ex-police officer Ms Leah Thompson who is now our Head of Faculty of PDHPE spoke to our Year 10 science students about safety on the roads, road rules and the consequences of breaking them. The students were quite interested in asking questions about rules related to motorcycles, electric scooters etc which Ms Thompson patiently answered.

Mrs Lane's Year 10 Science class dissected cows' eyes as part of their unit on light. After learning about reflection and refraction, they had the opportunity to explore how the eye is able to capture images from the outside world and transmit them through to the brain.

Sydney Royal Easter Show Dairy Junior Judging State Finalists

Based on their performance at Deniliquin Show last month, Darcy Parsons and Lexie Heinrich both qualified to compete in the upcoming State Final for Dairy Junior Judging at the Sydeney Royal Easter Show. Darcy and Lexie will be judging a dairy class of lactating cows and a dairy heifer class. They will be assessed on the accuracy of how they place the cattle, their ringcraft when appraising the cattle, their personal presentation and their comments on the microphone justifying their placings. Darcy and Lexie, both students of Year 11 Agriculture and HSC Primary Industries, are building on their experience judging livestock after the Australian Sheep and Wool Show last year.  We wish them all the best for this prestigious level of Dairy Junior Judging.

Easter Craft in the Resource Centre

The Easter Craft making activity in the Resource Centre proved extremely popular, with supplies running low with the flurry of students excited to make their bunny rabbit!
