From the Principal

Relationships - the keystone of Caring Communities

As we approach the Easter school holiday period, I have spent much time reflecting, with great pride, upon all that has been done and achieved by our students and staff across the life of our school throughout Term 1.

During the course of the term, I have had the pleasure of engaging students, staff, and families in a wide variety of formal and informal settings. A key and deliberate theme that I constantly repeat through personal action and/or through messaging at community engagements is the value that I place as an educational leader, yet more importantly as a person, on relationships and community connection.

I firmly believe that the establishment of strong relationships that are authentically nurtured and maintained is the beating heart of thriving school cultures.

One of the unique points of difference of our school is the safe and caring environment that is created for our students by our passionate and dedicated staff, an environment guided by our core values of Compassion, Respect, and Integrity.

Knowing the person and engaging the student fosters deeper trust and supports our young people when school life is going well in addition to when challenges arise and opportunities for ‘unexpected learning’ present.

On a personal note, I take this opportunity to convey my enormous gratitude to all members of our school community for the warmth of welcome, encouragement, and the strong support that I have received since commencing my role as Principal at the start of the year. I feel genuinely privileged to work with such caring and compassionate people who go ‘above and beyond’ for our students and am honoured to be in a position to serve and contribute to our school community.

In closing, and on behalf of our staff, we wish all families a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable Easter school holiday period and very much look forward to connecting with you and your children next term.
