Basketball News

On the last weekend of the September holidays 5th & 6th October, two Girton Basketball sides competed in the Domestic Basketball Championships held in Bendigo, the Under 16 Girls Div 1 and Under 14 girls Div 1.

The U14 girls won 2 games and lost 3 to end up 5th overall missing out on making the finals only by percentage in a 3 way tie.

The U16 girls won all their pool matches and played off in the Grand Final coming up against the team that got the closest to them.

It was an evenly contested final and the girls missed out by the narrow margin of 2 points.

Thank you to the coaches of both teams Mr Darren Burn and Mrs Lauren Swatton assisted by Mrs Kirstie Harvey.

The girls enjoyed the experience and we hope we can enter teams in this tournament for years to come.
