Riley House Dinner

A night in Riley’s Winter Wonderland was one to remember as students flocked to the Bendigo Club for fun, photos and a celebration of another great year in Riley House.

The class of 2019 were then welcomed to the evening with a friendly roast and a teddy bear.

The competitiveness then began with a new segment of guess the teacher baby photo hosted throughout the evening by Nash Dignan and Albert Whiteley. This competition resulted in controversy as the year 12s were ultimately disqualified for cheating. Although a disappointment, the disqualification was taken with a few laughs.

This year’s tutor acts didn’t fail to disappoint with the year 10s and then year 11s providing entertaining song and dance routines while the year 12s recreated their year seven tutor video act to the high amusement of the crowd.

The presentation of best dressed was a raging success for the Fitzpatrick’s taking the double with Eliza and Lewis both winning.

Following this was the second year of the McWaters Medal awarded to a student that displays all values and morals that, present on the evening, Mr Rick McWaters upholds. This year’s medal was awarded to a worthy student, Benjamin Greenall of Year 9.

With dinner and desert running over time the house captains Jack Smith and Georgia McMillan sped through their speech in record time, recapping our year as a house and the captains chilled but effective approach to each house event.

All in all, it was a great night with loads of fun for all attending with great speeches, breathtaking tutor acts and incredible performances.
