Monkey Buffet Festival, Lopburi, Thailand 2021, November 28
Every year in Lopburi, Thailand, the people gather colourful and exoctic fruits and vegetables and form them into mounds for their special guests. The guests of honour are the macaque monkeys which are thought to bring good luck to Lopburi.
The festival starts with people dressed in monkey costumes dancing to attract the monkeys to the banquet. The monkeys come and eat all the food that the people have left as thanks for the good luck they bring.
