Principal's News

Mandy O'Mara, Principal

Dear parents and carers,

It’s hard to believe we are at the end of week 7, term 1- the term is certainly flying by.

This week 85 of our year 7 students went to Camp Coorimungal. The students got to participate in camp activities but also to focus on study skills and behaviours expected of secondary school students. There has been a real sense of excitement and positivity from both the students and staff.

As we move into a more settled time where we can reintroduce some of our favourite activities. Our students have enjoyed participating in swimming trials and sporting events in recent weeks. They have also started visiting Wyndham Tech School, where industry, community and education intersect. It is a place where students and teachers can immerse themselves in programs and interact with technology that activates curiosity, challenges thinking and promotes problem solving.

Please check the updated important dates and events calendar. There is a lot happening in the coming weeks, including Parent /Teacher interviews, curriculum day, camp, Easter Raffle, end of term assembly etc. More information will be sent out closer to the date.

As you are aware our new Uniform will be launched in Term 2 and PSW will begin providing the uniform to our community.

The colour palate will stay the same, but the new provider has designed new and exciting options. A new dress fabric will be used and the school skirt will change to a plain navy. Other new pieces will include Polo shirts, jackets and House Polo shirts. In the coming weeks we will be able to share the full range of PSW designs.

In saying that the current uniform will be able to be worn. We will not be moving to compulsory wearing of the “PSW provided” uniform until the beginning of the 2023 school year. This gives all families 2 years to out-grow their current uniforms.

We acknowledge that moving to a new uniform supplier is a complex process. We do not want to place undue stress on families, which is why we are maintaining the school colours and having a lengthy transition to the new provider.

Please keep in mind that there is no pressure to purchase new uniform until 2023.
